About me
Hello, my name is Stefania Arshanty Felicia. I was born in a sweet paradise island that people named Bali; continued growing up in a coconuts city called Manado. I’m an exchange student from Indonesia, currently attending West Sound Academy in grade 10. I'm here with the Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (KL-YES) Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State.
I love reading, drinking lattes and bubble tea, eating oreo, socializing, and even discussing and sharing thoughts about politics, economics, social issues, or anything that I find interesting with you!
During a year living in this evergreen state, Washington, I’m going to share my experiences here along with my school stuff: projects, reflections, school works, and my personal blog.
Hope you enjoy and happy exploring!

ABOUT MY EXCHANGE PROGRAM
As I've said before, I'm here with a scholarship exchange program called KL-YES. This is an exchange student program for high school students, focused on muslim-populated countries to United States vice versa. The goal of this program is to build a bridge of understanding between Americans and the youth from muslim-populated countries. Initiated after the 9/11 tragedy by Senator Kennedy and Senator Lugar, it's important for the people in this world to clarify that the tragedy isn't about religion sentiments at all, instead it's a part of terrorism which isn't related with any religious group. Youth is seen as a great ambassador of change, so this program help the students from all around the world engage in international community, together to create a change and connecting people with good relations and understanding.
I live in a biggest muslim community in the world, Indonesia. I'm here to promote the understanding cultures in my city, the good relation between the diverse population; as a proof that living in diversity isn't as bad as some people think. I do my tasks here by living in a host family, attending a high school, volunteering in community services, and joining activities or conferences around.
For a school year (around 10 months) during my exchange year, I'm going to share my experiences through this website, by clicking the button below.
ABOUT MY HOST SCHOOL
I'm attending West Sound Academy, a small private International Baccalaureate world school located in Poulsbo, Washington. It has around a hundred students from 6th grade until 12th grade, which divided in middle school and upper school. As a 10th grader, I have the biggest grade in the school, around 20 students in same grade with me; and the smallest grade is the 6th grade.
WSA has a really good learning environment. All of the teachers are nice and willing to help and support the students to do the best, the students are welcoming and good students, the classes aren't too big and comfy, no uniform; all of these points create WSA as one of the best school I've ever had -which I'm glad to have WSA as my host school!
This website will talk more about my school by clicking this button below.
